Earth Angel~ A 1950′s Inspired Wedding Shoot

So a while back, I worked on a vintage inspired project with one of my favorite creative people, photographer Robert Norman. He’s as much of a “vintage-phile” as I am and was up for helping me transform a few friends into iconic celebrities of years gone by. You can revisit the shoot here in case you’re a little late to the “Dead Celebrity Project”. Well, Robert’s wheels started turning and he decided he wanted to take the project and extend it to weddings! Inspired by his mother’s wedding dress and his favorite time period, the 1950′s, the challenge was to recreate an authentic looking bridal scenario, “Leave it to Beaver” style! And golly gee Beave…did he make that happen or what?! Enter the perfect period wedding dress, waiting patiently for it’s new home, at Fashionista Vintage and Variety (go visit these ladies, seriously….they’ll give you champagne!:) And the car….well…the car speaks for itself. In pristine condition with roughly 8000 miles on it…it’s a dreamboat fit for the Fonze. The perfect turquoise chariot for our bride! (who is, by the way, a real bride, planning a real 1950′s inspired wedding! How perfect is that?!) The dress, the floral arrangement, the car…even the lipstick (Revlon Cherries in the Snow, in case you were wondering)…authentically styled from the time period…down to the little pink soap in the really pink bathroom….enjoy!

And because I just can’t help myself….I love these pics! A few wedding pics from my mom and dad….Barb rockin’ a classic lace dress, and dad in the robin egg’s blue get away car! And in case you’re reading this mom, I also love the hat! OH! And look at the daisies!!

Ray of Light Farm…Part 1

There are some days and some shoots that stand out among the rest and this day and this shoot was BY FAR one of them….a most memorable day! Photographer Adrien Broom was shooting for her ongoing project based on the rich imagination of children. Enter….the gorgeous animals of Ray of Light Farm. All rescues, they now live on this beautiful farm in Connecticut and occasionally even get to model:) What a treat….ducks, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, turtles, donkeys and even a zonkey…yes, you heard me right…a zonkey…a cross between a donkey and a zebra! So, these patient creatures helped us out for the day. To see more of the shoot, you can visit Pocket Wizard who was on hand to document the happenings and feature Adrien’s work on their site.

So…this project actually started as a beauty and fashion story I was putting together with photographer Jacklyn of JAG Studios for the GUESS blog. So, if you know me even a WEE LITTLE bit, you should know that nothing tickles my fancy more than making someone up like someone else….especially if the someone else is a sexy, saucy celebrity of days gone by. Enter…my friend Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events. It was her birthday, and what better way to celebrate than…doing a photoshoot…in a VW van….in a field…with a guitar! Yep…that’s my girl! A Brigitte Bardot inspired shoot is how every girl should ring in a new one! Yes sir…can I get an AMEN?? And who better to set the scene and shoot all of the 1960′s glamour than Raw Photo Design…I mean really…this is hot, kids!
